Pineapple - BORG has it wrong
#1
I had a thread on TOPIX called BORG confuses me.  Since TOPIX has shown their willingness to delete threads with no just cause, I am copying those posts here.

This is from that thread - the subject is how BORG deals with the pineapple question and why I think they are just trying to make the evidence fit their theory.

Post 1 and more in later posts.

They argue over the pineapple. Pineapple was found on the table in the Ramsey dining room. The print evidence would point to Burke getting it out. That would have been in the afternoon. JonBenet could have eaten it just before going to dinner at the Whites'. But the BORG insist the killer (family) fed it to her and kept her alive long enough for it to actually pass THROUGH her stomach to the intestines.

Why?

If family fed her that after getting home, there was NO reason to lie about it.

But it takes more than an hour or two to get food past the stomach. I can't believe her killer gave her a few bites of pineapple as he carried her to the basement. Makes no sense.

Try writing that scene in a play, doesn't work. She was tired and would have been fighting and screaming.

If he used the stun gun on her in her bedroom so he could move her quietly to the basement... you really think he'd stop for a snack?

On one of my trips to Boulder, I visited with both Dr. Krugman and Dr. Dobersen. They BOTH told me that no one can tell when JonBenét ate the pineapple because no one knows what else she ate that day.
They do know it was not eaten minutes before her death. The pineapple was not in her stomach but in her intestines. Think about kids throwing up -- it can happen hours after a meal -- and they are emptying their stomach, not their intestines.

No one kept track of what JonBenét ate that day. Some foods speed up digestion and others retard it. JonBenét was offered all kinds of food that day -- no one paid any attention to what she ate.

Both doctors told me that she could have eaten that pineapple BEFORE the family left to go to the Whites'. That is what I think happened. I think Burke had gotten out some pineapple, his prints were on the bowl. Why do I think him and not Patsy whose prints were also on the bowl? Well, Patsy's printswould have gotten there when she emptied the dishwasher. But the bowl and oversized spoon was, according to Patsy, not anything she did, not the way she would have served a pineapple snack to the kids. So I think Burke got it out -- and no one has told me that could not be true.......... I think JBR was walking through the room and saw it and snatched a piece or two. There was no reason for her to touch the bowl to snatch a bit of a treat. And she didn't have much -- seems to me it could be as simple as what I just said.

I don't think the pineapple is related to the murder at all.

Dr. Dobersen told me that she might have eaten the pineapple as early as 3 that afternoon - NO ONE can tell exactly when she ate it -- especially since no one knows what else she ate that day! Other foods we eat DO affect the rate of digestion.

I posted that in 2002 after a a trip to Colorado.

I am disturbed by the trend on te Dr Phil interview with Burke to refer to the pineapple as being found in her stomach instead of her small intestine. Once it was even referred to as "undigested."

My comment: - - Dr. Pill is in the business of making entertainment programs, not honest documentaries. He and his editors did a disservice and I wonder - - if Lin Wood was not Pill's lawyer and had not actually arranged for Burke to appear on Pill's show - - would Lin have sued Pill? Just a thought. No response expected.

BORG Troy Cowen posted this on his blog - but no one said she ate that pineapple shortly before she died - - that would have been impossible as the pineapple had passed through her stomach and was in the intestine.

During the autopsy, it was discovered that JonBenét had pineapple in her digestive tract. The forensic examiner was able to determine that JonBenét ate the pineapple at approximately ten-thirty.

The police discovered a bowl of pineapple on the kitchen table. That bowl had both Burke and Patsy’s fingerprints on it. If the forensic examiner’s estimation that JonBenét ate the pineapple at ten-thirty is correct, then it becomes clear that Patsy, Burke, and JonBenét were not in bed, they were up and in the kitchen eating pineapple. JonBenét died between ten-thirty and midnight and at a time Burke admits to being downstairs.
