If this killer has an interest in bondage (as Mike McElroy did) he might have links to bondage sites on his computer - - the Ramseys did not.
If he had that in his mind a lot, and I do think this man did, he may have enjoyed playing with string and cord, practicing knots. There may have been knots left in his living space and someone might remember that as being a bit strange. That is the kind of information the investigators should be told about. Anyone who could have been in Boulder that night - - who COULD have been, has no alibi to the contrary - - who has some history of mental disorder and/OR history of violence or abuse of children - - they should be considered as under the umbrella.
