Christmas Eve
#1

Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, a giant Christmas star made up of holiday lights shines for nearly two months. It has become a beloved tradition amongst residents of Boulder. After the Christmas Eve service and dinner at their favorite restaurant, the Ramsey family piled into their car to tour around Boulder for Christmas lights. Everyone was filled with the holiday spirit. They oohed and aahed over all of the beautiful displays as Christmas music played on the radio.
As the Ramseys made their way through Boulder, they drove up to where the famous star shines. JonBenet begged her parents to make a pit stop. She wanted everyone to get out of the car so they could walk up the side of the mountain and stand in the middle of the star. Her parents said no; it would be too much of a mess with everyone was still dressed in their Christmas mass finery. Next year, Patsy attempted to assure her daughter, they would come fully prepared with snow boots.
JonBenet was not pleased with this decision, and replied, “Well, what’s the use of coming up here if we’re not going to stand in the middle of the star?”
