During the Dec. 23rd party, for much of the time Fleet was using the phone in
the family room on the first floor. There were several people in there eating
their buffet dinners. He made a number of calls regarding his mother, who
was hospitalized in Aspen. He seemed to be trying to get some medicine or test
results to Aspen . Some of the calls seemed to be to messenger services.
Because it was evening, he was having a hard time getting what he needed,
getting transferred around. He was agitated throughout the time.
Fleet was using a white letter-sized notepad on which he was taking notes. He
would kneel in front of the telephone table and write on the pad, which he had
put on the table. A few pages were folded over on the pad, maybe because he or
someone else had already written on them. It seemed pretty clear that he
didn't bring the pad with him to the party. After a while, when he had made
the arrangements he needed to, Fleet left the part early to go to Denver to
pick up the medical equipment/tests from somewhere (a medical supply place, a
hospital? -- it was unclear from the calls) and take it to DIA to be flown to
his parents in Aspen. Another man at the party asked Fleet if he wanted him to
go, and Fleet said no. The two men that the Whites brought to the party may
have gone with Fleet, but it isn't clear. Fleet took the white notepad with
him to go to Denver because it had the directions and information on it that he
needed.
The Boulder authorities know this. (Surprised this didn't "leak"? Not me - it doesn't look bad for the Ramseys. Remember, I don't think Fleet is involved, so I am not pointing at him. Just pointing out how the media slanted the stories.)

Yes, indeed.
This is relevant,although it is not in any way crucial or so utterly devestating to any particular theory, it is relevant. Availability of the pad or knowledge of the type of pads found in the home is an interesting fact to be considered ... but its not just the tabloids who are really not interested in publishing anything other than what will be profitable for them.

was in the hospital in Aspen, why was he making overseas calls? Isn't that the story we've been hearing as to accidently calling 911?
Althought the Washington Post reported the person who made the 911 call was a "drunken party guest."

Just how many people out there think that the Ramseys gave parties at which there were guests who got drunk and dialed 911, even inadvertantly?
How many guests in your home get drunk?
How many do you invite back again for a Christmas party?

Okay, so after the murder she gave investigators the pad, but WHEN did she take it and WHY did she take it?
I'm not saying its incriminating ... FW surely was reasonable in taking the information with him, though I would have torn off the pages, myself. But was a housekeeper in need of some vital notes she had taken? Impulse? Need to collect pads?
Maybe its very minor but it should be addressed.

The "overseas" theory was just that - a theory. No authority has ever said that was what happened.
I don't know if I believe he was drunk. I haven't heard that from people who were there - I haven't heard that he had a "drinking problem". Doesn't mean he didn't, just that no one has indicated that to me and I no longer trust what the media reports.

Seems strange that there should suddenly be a foreign 911 area code that no one has ever heard of and that this was the first time anyone ever dialed it inadvertantly. Not impossible, but very unlikely.

Well, its not necessarily something that would have been broadcast, but if the topic of the phone call came up, then any significant point about lack of sobriety would probably have come up also, the fact that it didn't probably shows he was sober.
And 'no longer trust what the media reports'...
alas thats a sensible attitude to take.

Like I said, it was just a theory that we discussed early on - now we know why Fleet was on the phone the theory seems simply wrong.

Fleet took a pad and LHP took a pad. Seems like taking pads was much easier than some posters want to believe.
I never did think FW was drunk that night, because I don't think the Ramseys had close friends who got drunk in their home. There were others there, tho, who weren't close friends of the Ramseys, like the two men who came with Fleet White, and Glen Meyer.
So, it's possible that someone at the party was tipsy and made the 911 call. Attendants at the party should know if any one fessed up when the police came.
