Boulder Police Chief to Hold Live-Broadcast Community Update and Media Roundtable on Ramsey Case
On Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m., Boulder Police Chief Tom Koby will participate in a community update on the Ramsey homicide investigation. The update will air live on Boulder Municipal Cable Channel 8 and will be followed by roundtable questioning and discussion with five local journalists.
Chief Koby understands that Boulder citizens are very concerned about the death of Jon Bonet Ramsey. As the Chief of the Boulder Police Department he is interested in providing some insight into this investigation from the police perspective directly to the public. He looks forward to exploring those issues that he can publicly discuss with members of the Boulder media who have worked with the department on many issues.
The live broadcast will be moderated by City Communications Director Leslie Aaholm and will begin with remarks from Chief Koby addressed to the Boulder community. He will then be joined by local journalists who will ask questions. This is an active and ongoing investigation so some information about the case may not be available for release.
Invited local journalists include:
  • Alli Krupski, reporter, Boulder Daily Camera
  • Kevin McCullen, Boulder County Reporter, Rocky Mountain News
  • Mike McPhee, Reporter, Denver Post
  • Jim Burrus, Managing Editor, Boulder Planet
  • Ron Baird, Staff Writer, Colorado Daily
The Community Update and Media Roundtable will be re-broadcast on Channel 8 for the next several days. A limited number of copes of the broadcast will be made available to other members of the media as requested. Copies of the tape also will be available for check out at the Boulder Public Library.
